Stolen Vehicle Involved in Fatal High-Speed Crash on Main Street at Country Club Drive in Mesa

 
MESA, AZ (December 20, 2023) Mesa Police confirmed that two teenage boys died in a high-speed crash on Main Street on December 13.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Country Club Drive. Based on the report, two 13-year-old boys stole a Hyundai Elantra and drove eastbound on Main Street.
 
When they sped through the intersection at Country Club Drive, the teen driver crashed into a Ford Edge SUV. The SUV was going southbound on Country Club Drive at that point. Subsequently, the Elantra hit a pole and came to rest at the southeast corner of the intersection.
 
As a result, both teen boys inside the Elantra died at the scene. Officials did not yet release their names, pending kin notification.
 
Police said the Ford was carrying an Uber driver and their passengers but their conditions were not known.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
