Tony Almanza Struck and Killed by DUI Driver Julie Kotrlad in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (September 16, 2024) – The Austin Police Department identified 58-year-old Tony Almanza who died in a pedestrian accident in the 3400 block of South Congress Avenue on September 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened around 10:08 PM. Based on a report, a vehicle struck Almanza in the lanes. Police said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police identified the car’s driver as 34-year-old Julie Kotrla. They arrested her for an accident involving death.
