Melody Anderson Identified in Fatal DUI Accident in Tacoma

 
TACOMA, WA (September 16, 2024) – Authorities identified 24-year-old Melody A. Anderson who died in an accident on Highway 167 on September 8.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at 30th Avenue around 2:15 AM. Based on a report, Anderson was a passenger inside a car traveling south on the highway at the time of the incident.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle drove off the road and hit a pole. The crash ejected Anderson off the road.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries and died at the scene. She was not wearing her seat belt.
 
Police said the 27-year-old male driver was under the influence. He is now facing a vehicular homicide charge. He was not hurt in the crash.
