Fatal Single Vehicle Crash on Ellsworth Road at Guadalupe Road in Mesa

 
MESA, AZ (March 24, 2023) – The Mesa Police Department confirmed that three teens died in a crash on Ellsworth Road on March 15.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Guadalupe Road around 9:00 PM. Based on a report, a single vehicle was driving eastbound on Guadalupe Road at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, it lost control, went over the curb into the landscaping, and hit a boulder. Then, the vehicle rolled over and struck a light pole before it stopped.
 
Upon arrival, they found four teenage girls trapped inside the car. As a result, its driver and front passenger died at the scene. In addition, another passenger died at the hospital.
 
The fourth occupant, a 14-year-old girl, suffered injuries and remained hospitalized. Her loved ones have started a GoFundMe account to help during her recovery.
 
Police believe speed and the weather both played a role in the fatal crash.
 
As of now, an investigation is ongoing.
