Head-On Accident on Silberhorn Road, Thomas Roy Allen Identified
SEQUIM, WA (September 1, 2022) – Thomas Roy Allen was struck by a garbage truck on Silberhorn Road and died Monday, August 8.
Around 12:24 p.m., an Olympic Disposal System garbage truck was heading east on the road when it began to back up in the traffic lane. 71-year-old Allen – who was cycling down the road from his home – was hit in the 100 block of West Silberhorn Road, according to police officials.
Allen died at the scene, according to police.
A drug recognition specialist found no evidence that the truck driver was under the influence of drugs, according to the authorities.
A trooper said that they were giving the Sequim Police technical support as they look into the incident.
At the time of going to press, investigators did not have a detailed report of the incident.
There were no other motorists and vehicles involved in the accident. Authorities informed that they would continue to investigate the said fatal incident.
