Thomas Chirokov Arrested after Orchards DUI Accident on Highway 503

 
ORCHARDS, WA (January 31, 2024) — Officials arrested 28-year-old Thomas P. Chirokov, of Vancouver, after a DUI injury crash on Saturday, January 27.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 503 at Padden Parkway at around 9:20 p.m.
 
WSP said Chirokov traveled southbound on Highway 503 in a 2019 Dodge Charger. Then he crossed the barrier into the northbound lanes. After that, he struck a 2013 Nissan driven by 55-year-old Salvador V. Guiterrez, of Oregon City.
 
Lastly, a 2012 Ford Focus driven by 43-year-old Yonya M. Deshiell, of Vancouver, rear-ended the Nissan. The crash ended up blocking the northbound lanes.
 
Gutierrez and two of his three passengers, 46-year-old Claudia Recoba Cruz and 18-year-old Elizabeth Gutierrez, both of Oregon City, sustained injuries. Paramedics brought them to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.
 
Everyone in the Nissan, including a 17-year-old whose identity was withheld, wore a seat belt. Their conditions are not yet available at this time.
 
Meanwhile, both Deshiell and Chirokov were not hurt.
 
Chirokov faces eluding and vehicular assault allegations in connection with the incident.
 
WSP said impairment contributed to the crash.
