Thalia Arceo-Padilla Injured in Fatal George Crash on Highway 281
GEORGE, WA (October 8, 2024) – Authorities identified 31-year-old Thalia J. Arceo-Padilla of East Wenatchee who survived a fatal crash on Highway 281 on September 30.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened around 3:20 PM. Based on a report, Arceo-Padilla was driving a Jeep Liberty northbound on the highway during the crash.
Due to unknown reasons, she rear-ended a Chevrolet Traverse also traveling north on the highway. Subsequently, the Jeep crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, striking a southbound Ford F59. All three vehicles came to a stop in a roadside ditch.
As a result, a passenger in the Jeep sustained grave injuries and died at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s name, pending notification of next of kin.
Arceo-Padilla sustained injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
The other drivers involved in the crash, 29-year-old Andrea R. Massey of Quincy and 24-year-old Angel J. Guerrero of Zillah, were not hurt.
It’s unclear at this time whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. Further details, including charges and the use of seatbelts, are pending.
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
