WADDELL, AZ (September 23, 2024) — A teen sustained injuries following a pedestrian accident on West Burton Avenue on Friday, September 6.
 
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. near Burton Avenue and Cortessa Parkway.
 
Deputies said they responded to the scene after receiving reports of a child being hit by a vehicle. When they arrived, they discovered a 13-year-old boy with serious injuries. Paramedics then airlifted the teen to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
 
On Saturday morning, deputies said the teen was in stable condition and his injuries were non-life-threatening.
 
Authorities said the involved driver stayed at the scene. Detectives are still determining what caused the collision.
