Tatiana Mathis Dies in Killeen Pedestrian Accident on Elms Road

 
KILLEEN, TX (December 12, 2022) – Officials identified 23-year-old Tatiana Monae Mathis as the victim in a fatal pedestrian accident in the 100 block of Elms Road on December 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Florence Road around 7:20 PM. Based on a report, Mathis was crossing the road prior to the crash.
 
At the same time, a black Lexus traveling eastbound merged into the turning lane to make a left turn onto Florence Road. Subsequently, the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
 
As a result, Mathis suffered critical injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported her to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, before they transferred her to Baylor Scott & White Hospital, where she later died.
 
Police did not provide information about the driver of the Lexus. As of now, the case remains under investigation.
