Suspected DUI Driver Tanner Berzett Involved in Car Crash in St John

 
ST JOHN, WA (June 23, 2023) – Officers arrested 23-year-old Tanner D. Berzett of Asotin after a rollover car crash near Webb’s Slough Racing on June 17.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 6:15 PM. Based on a report, Berzett was driving at a high rate of speed in the campground area prior to the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, he hit the rear end of a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck. Subsequently, the pickup rolled over in the incident.
 
As a result, one of the passengers in the pickup suffered multiple fractures. Crews airlifted the victim to Spokane for treatment. Another passenger also suffered a fracture and was taken to Whitman Hospital in Colfax via ground ambulance. The other three passengers either had minor or suffered no injuries in the accident.
 
Deputies said Berzett showed signs of impairment. They arrested and booked him into the Whitman County Jail on 2 counts of Vehicular Assault.
