James Nicholson, Sylvie Dale Hospitalized after Walla Walla Car Accident

 
WALLA WALLA, WA (June 17, 2024) — 53-year-old Sylvie Dale and 62-year-old James Nicholson were injured in a car accident on Friday, May 31.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 12 near Walla Walla at around 7:20 p.m.
 
WSP said 28-year-old Clayton Gierke, of Kennewick, drove east on Highway 12 approaching Walla Walla. Then he tried to pass a Toyota Corolla driven by Dale with Nicholson as a passenger. Gierke subsequently lost control of his Chevrolet Silverado pickup and struck the Toyota.
 
Paramedics transported Dale and Nicholson to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla for treatment of sustained injuries. Reports said both are Beaverton, Oregon residents.
 
Gierke did not sustain injuries in the crash.
 
WSP said drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the accident. However, Gierke may face charges of second-degree negligent driving.
 
The investigation of the incident is still underway.
