Sweeny Holt-Stearns and Shayanne Cicherski Dead after Reardan Semi-Truck Accident

 
REARDAN, WA (January 21, 2025) — Sweeny Holt-Stearns and Shayanne Cicherski died in a semi-truck on Highway 2 on Wednesday, January 8.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 2 and Wood Road on Wednesday morning.
 
WSP reported that 18-year-old Shayanne Cicherski, of Fruitland, drove south on Wood Road. Then she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 2. After that, her vehicle collided with the trailer of a westbound semi-truck, becoming lodged underneath it.
 
Cicherski succumbed to her injuries on Monday, January 13, at a local hospital.
 
Her passenger, 16-year-old Sweeny Holt-Stearns, of Wellpinit, passed away shortly after paramedics transported him to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
 
A 13-year-old boy, also from Wellpinit, also sustained injuries in the crash but survived. The semi-truck driver was not hurt.
 
Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
