RENO, NV (November 14, 2022) – One person died while another was injured in a crash on Interstate 80 around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 20.

The Nevada Highway Patrol received reports of a crash along Interstate 80 that backuped traffic near Mustang.

NSP says 28-year-old Steven William Adams was driving a 2016 Volvo S60 west on Interstate 80. While trying to pass a 2001 GMC Savanna van, the Volvo’s left rear tire hit the right front of the GMC causing the Volvo to spin across the eastbound lanes and into the oncoming path of a 2010 Hyundai Sonata driven by Richard Nordstrom.

The Hyundai then hit the right side of the Volvo.

NSP says Adams died at the scene.

Nordstrom was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center with possible serious injuries. However, the GMC driver was not hurt.
