LONE TREE, CO (December 29, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on the 25 Freeway on Saturday, December 14.
 
According to the Lone Tree police, the accident occurred on 25 Freeway near the Lincoln Light Rail Station at about 5:30 p.m.
 
Lone Tree police said a man on a mental hold left HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge. Then he went into the nearby light rail tracks and caused service interruptions.
 
When he spotted police officers, he fled south from the Lincoln Station. After that, he jumped a fence and tried to run across the 25 Freeway, where a vehicle hit him.
 
After the incident, paramedics brought the injured man to HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge, where they pronounced him deceased. His identity is not yet available.
 
Authorities closed multiple lanes in both directions. They reopened them by 8:00 p.m.
