PHOENIX, AZ (December 29, 2024) — 35-year-old Erick Segura and 37-year-old Alonso Franco died in an accident on Sunday, December 15.
 
According to the Phoenix police, the incident occurred shortly after 1:45 a.m. near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road.
 
Police believe a 28-year-old traveled eastbound on Indian School Road. Then he tried to change lanes to avoid a vehicle driving slower than he was. After that, he oversteered and crossed over into westbound lanes. He subsequently collided head-on with another vehicle.
 
Segura and Franco, who were both in the second vehicle, died at the scene. Paramedics also brought a 16-year-old boy in the second vehicle to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
Police said the 28-year-old driver of the first vehicle sustained significant injuries and is recovering from multiple surgeries.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
