Fatal Rollover Crash on South Rose in Archer City

 
ARCHER CITY, TX (July 20, 2023) – Authorities confirmed that a 6-year-old boy died in a rollover crash on South Rose Street on July 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at East South Street around 9:45 PM. Based on a report, the victim was a passenger in a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was traveling southbound on South Rose.
 
Officers said the 30-year-old male driver from Wichita Falls was driving at an unsafe speed and disregarded the stop sign at the intersection of East South Street. Subsequently, the pickup went through the south barrow ditch, causing the vehicle to go airborne.
 
After that, it landed and rolled over on the passenger side, ejecting the 6-year-old from the truck.
 
As a result, the boy sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The driver of the truck, a 12-year-old boy from Wichita Falls, and a 12-year-old male from Archer City suffered injuries. Crews took them to the hospital for treatment.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
