FORTH WORTH, TX (June 7, 2024) — A 37-year-old man identified as Silvano Ornelas Jr. died in a car accident on Wednesday, May 22.
 
According to the Forth Worth police, the accident took place near Highway 360 and Trinity Boulevard in Fort Worth at about 5:45 a.m.
 
Reports said Ornelas Jr. got a flat tire while driving near Highway 360. Then he pulled over and turned on his hazard lights. He also called his brother and then his wife to bring the tools to him.
 
Nery Ornelas, the victim’s older sister said that in a split second, a vehicle crashed into the back of his brother’s truck. The impact ejected Ornelas Jr. and his wife.
 
Ornelas Jr. died and the scene.  According to the family, his wife remains in the hospital. She sustained broken ribs, toes, and spinal injuries.
 
Fort Worth police stated that the driver who crashed into the couple stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. There were no filed charges.
 
Ornelas asks any witnesses to the accident to come forward.
 
Reports said the deceased victim leaves behind a six-year-old and a seven-year-old boy.
