LAS VEGAS, NV (October 7, 2024) — a 52-year-old man identified as Shawn Saenz died in a pedestrian accident on Sunday, September 29.
 
According to Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 15 Freeway and mile marker 54 near Speedway Boulevard shortly before 1:15 a.m.
 
Nevada Police said a semi-truck hit a man traveling on foot.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on the scene. The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Shawn Saenz.  His cause and manner of death are still not released.
 
As of writing, there was no additional information about what led to the incident.
 
Officers closed traffic on the northbound 15 Freeway following the accident. They advised motorists to avoid the area.
 
Law enforcement officials said further details would be available after the preliminary investigation.
