Shane Irwin Fatally Injured after San Antonio Motorcycle Accident

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (August 20, 2024) — An 18-year-old identified as Shane William Irwin died in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, August 1.
 
According to the San Antonio police, the crash occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m. in the 3700 block of Bulverde Parkway near Bulverde Road.
 
A preliminary police report said Irwin rode a motorcycle northbound on Bulverde Road. Then the bike crashed into a southbound blue sedan that tried to turn left onto Bulverde Parkway.
 
First responders arrived and pronounced Irwin dead at the scene. According to the authorities, he died from blunt force injuries. In addition, they ruled his death as an accident.
 
Police said the driver of the sedan was not under the influence. Paramedics also brought the driver to a local medical center as a precaution.
 
As of writing, it is not exactly clear what caused the accident. SAPD did not release a report if the motorcyclist wore a helmet.
 
The investigation of the crash is still underway.
