7 Hospitalized after Car Crash on Kipling Street and West 51st Place

 
WHEAT RIDGE, CO (May 24, 2024) — Seven people sustained injuries in a three-vehicle accident on Kipling Street on Tuesday, May 14.
 
According to the Wheat Ridge Police, the crash took place at the intersection of Kipling Street and West 51st Place at about 2:00 p.m.
 
Wheat Ridge Police said the accident involved three vehicles. In addition, they said there were three adults in one vehicle and four teens in another.
 
Investigators said the at-fault driver in the car carrying the teens ran a red light.
 
Wheat Ridge Police spokesperson Alex Rose said the seven victims sustained significant but not life-threatening injuries.
 
Rose said officers closed Kipling for almost two hours in both directions from West 50th Avenue to West 58th Avenue as crews cleared the scene. It has since reopened.
 
The Wheat Ridge Police handle the ongoing investigation.
