COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (July 21, 2023) — A man riding a scooter suffered injuries in a hit-and-run accident on North Academy Boulevard on Tuesday, July 4.
 
According to Colorado Springs police, the crash happened at 3:25 a.m. The accident took place near the North Academy Boulevard and North Carefree Circle intersection by Palmer Park.
 
Reports said a vehicle struck a scooter rider and then fled the scene.
 
Officers and paramedics responded to the area. The medics then transported the 39-year-old man riding the scooter to a hospital in serious condition.
 
According to Colorado Springs police, investigators believe the involved vehicle was a pickup truck.
