Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Sheridan Boulevard near 107th Avenue

 
WESTMINSTER, CO (July 21, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident with a police officer on Sheridan Boulevard on Tuesday, July 4.
 
According to the Westminster Police Department, the accident happened at around 10:30 p.m. on the 4th of July. An officer drove southbound on Sheridan Boulevard towards 107th Drive near Westminster City Park.
 
The department stated that a man stepped into traffic on Sheridan Boulevard. Then the oncoming officer’s vehicle struck him.
 
WPD said the pedestrian died at the scene. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not yet released his identity pending notification of loved ones.
 
The officer did not sustain any injuries.
 
Per protocol, the department placed the involved officer on paid administrative leave during the investigation of the incident.
 
The 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Team handles the ongoing investigation.
