Savaughn Barnes Involved in Fatal Accident on State Street in San Jacinto

 
SAN JACINTO, CA (December 8, 2022) – The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrested 21-year-old Savaughn Barnes of Hemet following a fatal hit-and-run on State Street on December 4.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Dillon Avenue around 8:21 PM.
 
Based on a report, deputies responded to a report of an accident at the intersection. When they arrived, they found a man dead in the street. A witness told them that a vehicle struck the victim and left the scene. In addition, they provided a license plate number and a description of the vehicle.
 
Deputies tracked and arrested Barnes on suspicion of manslaughter and hit-and-run causing death. His bail was $100,000. The San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station asks anyone with information about the crash to contact Deputy Cox of the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station at 951-654-2702.
