Richard Deiley, Saundra Deiley Die after Chino Valley Accident

 
CHINO VALLEY, AZ (February 12, 2024) — Two Chino Valley residents, 72-year-old Saundra Deiley and 85-year-old Richard Deiley, died in a crash on Saturday, February 3.
 
The Chino Valley Police Department said the accident took place on Highway 89 and Road 3 South shortly after 3:00 p.m.
 
Based on the initial investigation, a maroon 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis occupied by Saundra and Richard traveled westbound on East Road 3. Then the driver turned left onto the southbound lanes of Highway 89, in front of a red 2020 Subaru Ascent moving northbound.  After that, the SUV crashed into the driver’s side door of the sedan.
 
Paramedics rushed Saundra and Richard to a hospital in critical condition, where they both later died.
 
The 44-year-old woman driving the SUV and her two small children, also from Chino Valley, sustained minor injuries. Paramedics also transported them to the hospital.
 
Police do not believe speed or impairment contributed to the collision. The investigation is underway.
