LAS VEGAS, NV (October 4, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 72-year-old Samy Acoca after a hit-and-run accident on Rancho Drive on October 2.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Jones Boulevard around 9:56 PM. Based on a report, a man in his 50s was crossing Rancho Drive outside of a crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
At that point, Acoca hit him with his 2014 Hyundai Sonata. Subsequently, Acoca fled the scene without giving aid to the victim.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered critical injuries in the incident.
 
Investigators said Acoca returned to the scene. They arrested him for hit-and-run charges.
