Martin Anaya Identified in Fatal Phoenix Hit-and-Run Accident

 
PHOENIX, AZ (October 4, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 26-year-old Martin Anaya who died after a stabbing and hit-and-run accident on 35th Avenue on October 1.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Bethany Home Road around 7:30 PM. Based on a report, 28-year-old Frank Avila tried to rob and stabbed Anaya on a city bus prior to the crash.
 
At that point, Anaya ran off the bus, trying to get away. Subsequently, 46-year-old Alberto Valenzuela hit the victim on the road and left the scene.
 
As a result, Anaya sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
A man on the bus then shot Avila. Investigators later arrested Avila and released the man who shot him. They also took Valenzuela into custody for leaving the scene of a deadly collision.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
