Adonis Miller, Samantha Denney Killed after Olympia DUI Accident on 5 Freeway
OLYMPIA, WA (November 21, 2023) — A 31-year-old pregnant woman, Samantha Denney, and her 2-year-old boy Adonis Miller died in a DUI crash November 10.
Investigators said a Jeep moving northbound in the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway. Then it struck a Chevy Malibu moving southbound.
Authorities said Denney, who was pregnant, and her two 2-year-old child died in the accident. Her other child, an 8-year-old girl, sustained serious injuries.
Denney’s friends and family created a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
Washington State Patrol troopers closed the southbound 5 Freeway just north of Highway 101 late Friday night during an investigation.
Troopers said the driver of the jeep was under the influence at the time of the crash. They said at first it was Denney who drove in the wrong direction but later corrected. They added that the fault was with the Jeep driver.
The 27-year-old male suspect is from Shelton and did not sustain any injuries. Troopers arrested him for DUI. He will face vehicular homicide charges.
