Samantha Anderson Dead, Ricky Ekdahl and David Bockmon Hurt Lubbock Car Accident

 
LUBBOCK, TX (December 5, 2023) — A 40-year-old woman identified as Samantha Anderson died in a two-car crash on Thursday, November 16.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the two-vehicle crash took place on County Road 7700 east of County Road 2110 at around 7:30 p.m.
 
DPS said 48-year-old Ricky Ekdahl drove a 2018 Subaru BRZ east on County Road 7700. At the same time, 45-year-old David Bockmon drove a 1997 Honda Civic west on the same road.
 
Ekdahl went slightly off the roadway into some loose dirt. It resulted in Ekdahl taking evasive action. He then tried to bring the vehicle back onto the road. However, he crashed into Bockmon’s vehicle.
 
As a result of the collision, paramedics rushed Bockmon and Anderson, who was his passenger, to University Medical Center due to serious injuries. Anderson later succumbed to her injuries and died. Both Bockmon and Anderson did not wear seatbelts during the crash.
 
Ekdahl had minor injuries. Reports said he wore a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
 
DPS said the weather was clear and the road was dry when the crash happened.
