Rodney Stryhn Dead after Longview Truck Accident on Highway 432

 
LONGVIEW, WA (March 13, 2023) — 81-year-old Rodney G. Stryhn, of Longview, died in a truck crash on Saturday, March 2.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 432 in Cowlitz County, on the west side of Longview at around 10:00 p.m.
 
WSP said 36-year-old Syed A. Haider, of Vancouver, drove a Freightliner tractor-trailer rig westbound on Highway 432. It approached the intersection with Prudential Boulevard.
 
At the same time, Stryhn drove a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek and made a left turn from Prudential Boulevard onto the highway. Then, the semi hit the Subaru in the intersection.
 
Stryhn died at the scene. The Cowlitz coroner will later release the cause of death.
 
Authorities said both drivers wore seatbelts.
 
However, the investigation of the incident is still underway.
