Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Suspect Hit-and-Run Driver Rodger Liao in Las Vegas

 
LAS VEGAS, NV (November 26, 2023) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 62-year-old Rodger Liao following a fatal hit-and-run on Flamingo Road on November 21.
 
According to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Buffalo Drive around 10:42 PM. Based on a report, a 36-year-old man was trying to cross the intersection at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, Liao hit him with his Mercedes Benz and fled the scene. Las Vegas Metropolitan police said the victim was attempting to cross Flamingo Road in a marked crosswalk but against the walk signal. They reported it as a hit-and-run.
 
As a result, the man suffered grave injuries and died in the incident. Officials did not yet release his name, pending kin notification.
 
Later on, Liao returned to the scene and displayed signs of impairment. Officers arrested him on DUI and hit-and-run charges.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
