Robert Ortiz Killed after Sparks Motorcycle Accident

 
SPARKS, NV (October 16, 2023) — A 35-year-old man identified as Robert Ortiz died in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday, September 26.
 
At around 6:38 a.m., Sparks Fire, Sparks Police, and REMSA responded to the 900 block of Victorian Avenue after receiving reports of a motorcycle crash.
 
Officers learned Ortiz rode his motorcycle westbound on Victorian from Pyramid at a high rate of speed. After that, Ortiz struck a curb and it caused the motorcycle and Ortiz to become airborne. The impact then ejected Ortiz from the motorcycle before he landed on concrete.
 
Sparks Police have identified two vehicles that saw the crash and urge the public to help them find the owners. They described the first vehicle as an early 2000s blue-colored Dodge 4DR truck with chrome wheels. They added that the second vehicle is an early 2000s single-cab white Chevy pickup. The Chevy has a black lumber rack and a toolbox in the bed of the truck.
 
On Thursday, September 28, the Sparks Police Department talked to both drivers and they said that both cooperated with an ongoing investigation.
