Robert Montes Killed, Manuela Castillo Injured in Motorcycle Accident on South Moss Avenue [Odessa, TX]

Robert Montes Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Odessa

 
ODESSA, TX (October 17, 2024) – Authorities identified 39-year-old Robert Montes who died in a motorcycle accident on South Moss Avenue on October 9.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at approximately 3:00 PM. Based on a report, Montes was traveling south on Moss Avenue in a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
 
At the same time, 69-year-old Manuela Rayos Castillo was driving a 2008 Land Rover LR2 out of a private drive attempting to turn north onto Moss Avenue. According to DPS, Castillo failed to yield the right of way and Montes struck her car. The impact then ejected Montes from his motorcycle on impact.
 
As a result, Montes suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
 
Emergency crews took Castillo to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa with minor injuries.
