Teen Driver Involved in Fatal Bicycle Accident on 32nd Street in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (October 17, 2024) – The Phoenix Police Department confirmed that one person died in a bicycle accident on 32nd Street on October 8.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Greenway Road shortly after 7:30 PM. Based on a report, the victim was crossing the street at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, a teen driver was heading north on 32nd Street. Due to unknown reasons, the teen hit the victim who was not in a crosswalk.
 
As a result, the bicyclist suffered grave injuries in the incident. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital, where he later died. Officials did not release his name, pending kin notification.
 
According to police, the teen driver initially ran off the scene but contacted authorities shortly after the crash. Changes are still pending at this point.
