Motorcycle Rider Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 115 in Cañon City

 
CAÑON CITY, CO (October 9, 2023) – Officials confirmed that motorcycle rider died in a hit-and-run accident on Highway 115 on September 30.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened near milepost 2 around 8:30 PM. Based on a report, the victim was driving a red motorcycle east on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, the rider hit a white pickup truck. Subsequently, the driver of the pickup truck left the scene and did not help the rider.
 
As a result, the impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle. The victim then suffered grave injuries and died. CSP did not yet release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
Later on, officers said they already located the truck and its driver. They ask anyone who witnessed the crash to contact CSP Dispatch at (719) 544-2424.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
