THORNTON, CO (January 15, 2025) — A rider sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident on Colorado Boulevard on Thursday, January 2.
 
According to the Thornton Police Department, the incident occurred on Colorado Boulevard near East 115th Avenue at around 1:54 p.m.
 
Thornton Police said a driver turning left failed to yield to the motorcyclist, resulting in a collision. Subsequently, the driver’s vehicle crashed through a fence into a nearby backyard.
 
Emergency responders arrived at the scene. Then they transported the motorcyclist to a local medical center. Their injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.
 
Authorities closed Colorado Boulevard in both directions between Woodglen Boulevard and East 112th Avenue for several hours. They later reopened the roadway around 3:40 p.m.
 
Thornton Police confirmed that they do not suspect impairment as a factor in the crash.
