Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Loop 202 in Tempe
TEMPE, AZ (November 6, 2024) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on Loop 202 on Tuesday, October 15.
According to the Tempe Police Department, the accident occurred on Loop 202 near McClintock Drive at around 4:30 p.m.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the incident involved a motorcycle and an SUV.
Officials reports later confirmed the person on the motorcycle died at the scene.
Due to the incident, a traffic jam developed. It backed up vehicles up to the Loop 101 interchange. There were also delays in the opposite direction approaching the scene of the incident.
Authorities closed multiple lanes as part of the investigation. They reopened traffic at about 5:45 p.m.
