Ricardo Reyes Jr. Identified in Fatal Head-On Crash in Garrison

 
GARRISON, TX (July 31, 2023) – Officials identified 32-year-old Ricardo Reyes Jr. who died in a fatal head-on crash on Highway 59 on July 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened about three miles south of Garrison. Based on a report, a Peterbilt tractor-trailer was traveling south on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
At the same time, a Dodge was traveling northbound on the same road. For unknown reasons, the Dodge crossed into the southbound lanes and struck the truck head-on.
 
As a result, Reyes, a passenger in the SUV, suffered grave injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Emergency crews transported the driver of the Dodge to UT Health Tyler for treatment. They also sent the truck driver to Nacogdoches Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
 
As of now, the case remains under investigation. In addition, no other details are available.
