Rebecca Powelson Identified in Fatal Rear-End Crash in Chattaroy

 
CHATTAROY, WA (August 15, 2023) – Officials identified 33-year-old Rebecca L. Powelson of Reardan who died in a rear-end crash on Highway 2 on August 2.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened around 6:04 AM. Based on a report, Powelson was driving her 1990 Ford Ranger on the highway at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a 2013 Dodge Grand rear-ended her vehicle. The Ford then rolled over in the lanes.
 
As a result, Powelson sustained grave injuries and died in the in the incident.
 
Subsequently, officers charged the Dodge driver, Paul G. Ainsworth of Newport, with vehicular homicide.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
