PHOENIX, AZ (November 26, 2023) – The Phoenix Police Department identified 39-year-old Ray Welch who died in a hit-and-run on 67th Avenue on November 15.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Buckeye Road around 7:45 AM. Based on a report, Welch was walking across Buckeye Road outside of a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle struck him and fled before officers arrived.
 
As a result, Welch suffered grave injuries and died at the scene.
