Maria Sotelo-Santos, Raul Ponce Fatally Injured after Motorcycle Crash in Phoenix

 
PHOENIX, AZ (June 7, 2024) — Phoenix residents, Raul Ponce and Maria Sotelo-Santos, died in a motorcycle accident on Monday, May 27.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on southbound Highway 51 near Bethany Home Road at about 8:00 p.m.
 
The Arizona DPS said the driver lost control of the motorcycle. Then it crashed with the concrete median wall.
 
Both people on the motorcycle died as a result of the accident. The Arizona Department of Public Safety identified them as 31-year-old Raul Ponce and 26-year-old Maria Sotelo-Santos.
 
Officers close all southbound lanes at Glendale Avenue. They reopened the lanes at about 1:00 a.m.
