Ralph Barragan Dies, James Milliken Jr. Detained after Pedestrian Accident at Mt. San Antonio College

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 5, 2022)Ralph Barragan died while James Milliken Jr. was arrested after a pedestrian accident at Mt. San Antonio College (SAC) on Thursday, December 1.

The fatal incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the campus, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said Milliken, a former employee of Mt. SAC, drove a vehicle near the staff parking lot when he made an ‘intentional’ collision with the 63-year-old Barragan on a walkway right outside the bookstore.

The force of impact inflicted fatal injuries to Barragan, who died at the scene. Barragan was a tram driver for disabled students through the access program at the college for 15 years.

Officials then found an injured Milliken at a bus stop located several feet away from the vehicle. He then received treatment at a local hospital before getting arrested on suspicion of murder.

The motive behind the crash remains under investigation.
