Denver Williams Dies after Head-On Car Crash in Corning

 
CORNING, CA (December 14, 2022) — Denver Williams died while Jatinder Sidhu sustained injuries after a head-on crash near South Avenue and Michigan Avenue on Monday night, December 5.

The fatal collision, which happened at about 5:40 p.m. in the Red Bluff area, involved a 2006 Kia Sorento and a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia big rig, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Authorities said the Sorento, being driven by 75-year-old Williams of Corning, traveled westbound on South Avenue where the Freightliner – operated by Sidhu carrying 70,000 pounds of lumber on board – headed east.

Williams then tried to pass a vehicle in front of Sorento. However, after entering the oncoming lane he crashed head-on with the Freightliner.

The force of impact inflicted fatal injuries to Williams.

Sidhu survived with minor injuries.

The cause and factors surrounding the incident remain under investigation at this time.
