Police Patrol Vehicle Crash on South Sheridan Boulevard in Denver

 
DENVER, CO (January 16, 2024) – The Denver Police Department confirmed that a police patrol vehicle was part of a crash on South Sheridan Boulevard on January 7.
 
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened at West Evans Avenue around 12:48 PM. Based on a report, a Denver Police patrol vehicle was responding to a call with lights and sirens before the crash.
 
At the same time, a vehicle going north on South Sheridan Boulevard made a lane change to yield to emergency vehicles. At that point, it hit another vehicle in the next lane. The impact caused the second vehicle to spin out into the oncoming lanes and hit the patrol vehicle. The patrol car hit a fourth vehicle and a light pole before coming to a stop in the lanes.
 
As a result, two officers and one driver sustained injuries in the crash.
 
Officers issued the driver of the first vehicle a summons for careless driving resulting in injury and not having insurance.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
