Damean Segovia, Colton Thomas Arrested in San Antonio Crash

 
SAN ANTONIO, TX (July 16, 2024) – The San Antonio Police Department arrested 27-year-old Damean Segovia following a crash on Loop 1604 West Access Road on June 13.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened at Babcock Road around 3:00 AM. Based on a report, police officer Segovia was driving a Jeep Wrangler headed toward the intersection.
 
At the same time, 27-year-old Colton Thomas was driving a Mazda 3, following Segovia’s vehicle. Due to unknown reasons, Thomas was unable to stop in time and hit the back end of Segovia’s vehicle. Subsequently, the Mazda veered off the road and struck a parked construction vehicle.
 
Officers arrested Segovia after they learned a field sobriety test showed his blood alcohol concentration almost twice the legal limit. They also charged Thomas with a DWI.
 
SAPD will conduct an administrative investigation into Segovia’s DWI arrest. As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
