Christopher Sherer Identified in Fatal Rollover Accident in Jasper

 
JASPER, TX (April 16, 2024) Jasper Police identified 44-year-old Christopher Sherer, a police officer, who died in an accident on Farm-to-Market Road 252 on April 5.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at County Road 298. Based on a report, Sherer was off-duty at the time when he was driving a 2013 Ram 1500 south on the road.
 
For an unknown reason, he went across the northbound lane and into the west ditch, where he sideswiped a tree and hit another one head-on. Subsequently, the force caused the Ram to overturn.
 
As a result, Sherer sustained injuries in the crash. Emergency crews brought him to Jasper Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
 
As of now, the officers are investigating the crash. In addition, no other details are available.
