Perry Edwards Killed in Rear-End Crash on 20 Freeway in Odessa
ODESSA, TX (January 19, 2023) – Officers identified 27-year-old Perry Whitley Edwards of Crane as the victim who died in a rear-end crash on 20 Freeway on January 9.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened 1.7 miles east of Odessa around 6:39 PM.
Based on a report, Edwards was driving a Toyota Corolla east on the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he failed to control his speed and struck the rear of a Mack Granite.
As a result, Edwards was pronounced deceased at the scene. DPS said he was wearing a seat belt at that time.
As of now, the case remains under investigation.
