Perejitei Bekewe Charged after Crash with Dump Truck on Highway 26 in Adams County

 
ADAMS COUNTY, WA (June 19, 2023) – Officials charged 26-year-old Perejitei Bekewe following a crash involving a dump truck on Highway 26 on June 8.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at Johnson Road at approximately 12:20 PM. Based on a report, Bekewe was driving a Ram 1500 pickup truck north on Johnson prior to the crash.
 
As he approached the highway, he failed to yield at the stop sign. Subsequently, he struck a Consolidated Disposal truck driven by 52-year-old Anthony Williamson. Upon hitting the truck’s bed, Bekewe spun around and struck it again. Williamson overcorrected on impact, causing the big rig to roll onto its driver’s side 50 feet off road.
 
As a result, both Bekewe and Williamson suffered injuries in the incident.
 
Police charged Bekewe for failure to yield.
