Danielle Perkins Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Business Highway 287 in Wilbarger County

 
WILBARGER COUNTY, TX (June 19, 2023) – Officials identified 30-year-old Danielle Marie Perkins who died in a pedestrian accident on Business Highway 287 on June 12.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near milepost 294 around 5:50 AM. Based on a report, Perkins was walking near the center stripe of the highway at the time of the crash. Police said she was wearing dark clothing and the area of the road was dark.
 
Due to unknown reasons, a 2021 Honda Accord traveling east on the road struck her.
 
As a result, Perkins sustained grave injuries and died in the incident.
 
The report said that the driver had non-incapacitating injuries. It is unknown how fast the driver was going at the time of the crash but the posted speed limit is 55 miles per hour.
