Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run on Highway 71 near Old Bee Caves Road in Austin

 
AUSTIN, TX (September 23, 2024) – The Austin Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run in the 7300 block of West Highway 71 on September 10.
 
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Old Bee Caves Road around 7:17 AM. Based on a report, a vehicle hit the victim in the lanes.
 
Authorities did not release the details that led to the crash. Subsequently, the driver of vehicle the fled the scene without giving aid to the pedestrian.
 
As a result, the victim suffered grave injuries in the incident. Immediately, Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin police officers responded. They pronounced the patient dead at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s name, pending kin notification.
 
As of now, an investigation into the case is ongoing. In addition, no other details are available.
