Man Dies, Alexis Lopez Arrested after Garden Grove DUI Crash on Brookhurst Street

 
GARDEN GROVE, CA (November 10, 2022) — A 53-year-old pedestrian died while Alexis Lopez was arrested following an alleged DUI crash on Brookhurst Street early Sunday morning, November 6.

According to the Garden Grove Police Department, the fatal collision happened in the 12000 block of Brookhurst Street at around 1:55 a.m.

Authorities said 26-year-old Lopez of Brea traveled on Brookhurst Street when he hit the pedestrian, before fleeing the scene.

The victim received transportation to a hospital, where he later died from undisclosed injuries. The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Officers searched and arrested Lopez, who was then booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence, felony hit and run and felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
